Mentis Academy provides personalized academic and competition coaching for motivated students. Our programs focus on helping students develop strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and confidence through structured instruction and individualized feedback. We offer coaching in debate and math, with lessons tailored to each student’s goals and experience level.
Mentis instructors are experienced students, educators, and competitors with strong backgrounds in their subjects. All of our instructors have achieved top-10 national results in academic competitions and have extensive experience teaching and mentoring students.
Our goal is to pair each student with a coach who can both challenge and support them.
Mentis Academy works primarily with middle school and high school students. However, we occasionally work with younger students who demonstrate strong interest or advanced ability in a subject.
No. We work with students at a variety of levels including beginners who are new to a subject, students looking to strengthen their academic performance, or advanced students preparing for competitions or tournaments. Lessons are tailored to the student’s current level and goals.
Payment is required prior to the start of each session. We stand behind the quality of our instruction—if you are not satisfied after the first two classes, we offer a 50% refund of the total cost, no questions asked.
Our main form of contact is through email. We can be reached at info@mentisacademy.org.
Private lessons at Mentis Academy follow a simple four-step process:
1. Free Consultation
We meet with the student and parent to understand goals, experience, and scheduling preferences.
2. Registration
We receive student information and confirm 8 sessions for the student.
3. Instructor Assignment
Instructors having placed top 10 in the nation are assigned to each of our registered students.
4. Scheduling
Students receive a unique scheduling link for their 8 sessions, and the coaching begins as soon as they schedule their first session.
All Mentis lessons are 60 minutes long.
Besides Public Forum (PF), all Mentis private lessons are one-on-one, allowing instructors to tailor instruction directly to the student.
PF is a two-versus-two activity, so registered students are encouraged to bring a partner for no additional cost.
Most students meet once per week, but schedules can vary depending on the student’s goals. Some students choose to meet more frequently during tournament preparation or exam periods. Students have no constraints on scheduling for available times.
Students can begin lessons as soon as they register for an available slot. This almost always happens within 3 days of registration.
Availability depends on instructor schedule, but lessons are available every weekday in the evenings and all-day on weekends.
If you need to reschedule a session, please notify us in advance and reschedule using the scheduling link we provide. Any cancellations or rescheduling must be done at least 24 hours prior to a meeting.
If a student misses a lesson without prior notice of at least 24 hours, the session may not be rescheduled. However, we try to accommodate unavoidable conflicts when possible.
A typical Mentis lesson may include reviewing previous material, learning new concepts or strategies, working through practice drills or problems, analyzing past competitions or questions, and receiving targeted feedback. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals and progress.
